Ligand-gated ion channel
Ligand-gated ion channels (also known as ionotropic receptors) are transmembrane ion channel proteins that allow passage of ions upon activation by a specific chemical. Ligand-gated ion channels include ionotropic glutamate receptors (AMPA, kainate and NMDA receptors), GABAA, GABAA-ρ, Glycine, 5-HT3, HCN, acetylcholine nicotinic and purinergic (P2X) receptors. Commonly used ligands include D-AP5, NBQX, kainic acid, and gabazine. Researchers can save up to 50% on ligand-gated ion channel (ionotropic receptor) agonists, antagonists and allosteric modulators from Hello Bio - they are up to half the price of other suppliers.
