Adenosine

Adenosine receptors are G-protein coupled receptors, activated by the endogenous nucleoside adenosine, and classified into A₁, A_2A, A_2B and A₃ receptors. These adenosine receptors are also referred to as P1 receptors to distinguish them from the receptors for nucleotides (P2X and P2Y receptors).
