Stem cells
Stem cells are unspecialized cells that are capable of self-renewal through mitotic cell division. They may be induced to form more specialized cells by a process termed cellular differentiation. The main types of stems cells are embryonic stem cells (ESCs) found in blastocysts; adult (or somatic) stem cells, found in adult tissues, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and cancer stem cells (CSCs). Small molecule pharmacological tools can be used to manipulate signalling pathways during the in vitro culture of stem cells. These tools can be used to target signaling pathways that control cell proliferation and differentiation. Researchers can save up to 50% on stem cell research tools from Hello Bio - they are around half the price of other suppliers.
