The cytoskeleton acts as a cellular scafforld within a cell and plays an important role in many processes such as cell motility and cell division. Many cytoskeletal proteins interact with proteins of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The ECM is a network of extracellular molecules which provide structural and biochemical support to surrounding.
