GABA uptake & transport
GABA transport is mediated by a family of proteins known as GABA transporters, or GATs. GABA transporters are sodium- and chloride-dependent members of the Solute Carrier Family 6 (SLC6). The GAT subtypes are GAT1 (SLC6A1), GAT2 (SLC6A13), and GAT3 (SLC6A11). Within the same family are betaine transporter, BGT1 (SLC6A12), taurine transporter, TauT (SLC6A6) and creatine transporter, CT1 (SLC6A8). Researchers can save up to 50% on GAT inhibitors, activators and modulators from Hello Bio - they are up to half the price of other suppliers.
