Vimentin

Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein that is expressed in a variety of cell types, including cells of a mesenchymal origin. It plays a structural role in maintaining the integrity of the cytoplasmic filament network and also plays a role in cell motility and division. Vimentin is commonly used as a marker for cells of mesenchymal origin in experiments, particularly in the fields of cancer research and developmental biology, as it is often expressed in tumor cells and in cells undergoing differentiation. Researchers can save up to 50% on Vimentin reagents from Hello Bio - they are around half the price of other suppliers.
