Hello Bio US office celebrates 5th Anniversary

Our US office is 5 years old today! To celebrate their 5th Anniversary we are offering a special 15% discount for US customers and we asked our very own Paula Klockner, Head of US Operations, to share her reminisces from the last 5 years.

*****

Our US Office is 5 years old today! And what an amazing period this past 5 years has been. It doesn’t feel like five years, but then again, looking at some of the medical breakthroughs, it’s been an astounding five years.

Five years ago, I had never heard of DREADD ligands. Now we have seventeen. I often think to myself, what an exciting time to be a researcher!

Here are 5 innovations from the last 5 years that have caught my eye:

Vaccines (of course!)

In 2015-2016, an Ebola Vaccine was developed in a record setting twelve-month time frame. This was unprecedented at the time. Many did not think it was possible. Then, in 2020, Pharmaceutical researchers developed and began distribution of multiple Coronavirus Vaccines in less than twelve months. This time last year, the average person had never heard of mRNA. Now, it’s part of our lexicon.

Immunotherapy has gone mainstream

Advances in immunotherapy for cancer has moved the possibility to reality. A patient’s own immune system can help fight the disease. Joint Therapy, Immunotherapy joined with Chemotherapy, shows remarkable possibilities with various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer. TCR T-cells are showing success targeting liver and other cancerous tumors.

Genetic Testing

After years of people becoming addicted to opioids for pain, now genetic tests are available to help determine who may become addicted thus providing options for other therapies and medications to be used.

3D Medical Printing

Used mainly for limb replacement, 3D Medical Printing is something to watch. Who knows, soon we may be able to do away with organ donations as doctors and medical engineers develop organs for the individual patient.

Virtual Education

The pandemic has opened more doors for learning. Grab your coffee. No need to get out of your PJs because now more students can watch and learn from specialists around the world.

Happy birthday Hello Bio!

And in that 5 years, our US office was born and has flourished. And what a 5 years it has been. Our customers have been at the forefront of all of these breakthroughs, and so much more. I am truly privileged to work with our vibrant community of researchers in the US, and proud to bring them the research products that they need, at the affordable prices they’ve asked for. To celebrate, we are offering US customers even lower prices this month – with a 15% discount (click here for details).

Thank you to our customers. For your trust, your skill and your dedication. Here’s to another 5 years!
