Registration is now OPEN for our inaugural LabLife Conference!
Following overwhelming interest and support from our wonderful community of life scientists, we are incredibly excited to announce that the inaugural Hello Bio LabLife Conference will take place on 30th June 2022 – tickets are free and registrations are now OPEN!
The Hello Bio LabLife Conference (#LabLifeCon) is a new annual, fully virtual event for early career scientists inviting passionate life scientists from around the world to share their knowledge, insight, wisdom and experience of life inside and outside the lab.
In a half-day schedule of expertly curated peer-to-peer talks and panel discussions, The Hello Bio LabLife Conference aims to support you to develop the lab and life skills you need to build a successful life science career.
Why are we doing this?
As many of you will know, our founding team are hugely passionate about supporting life scientists and life science research – we’ve all worked in labs, and we understand the emotional and logistical challenges researchers face on a daily basis.
Over the last few years, as we’ve built our blog, collaboratively created our guides for life scientists and grown our annual Lab Heroes Awards™, we’ve been continually inspired by the incredible spirit of camaraderie amongst life scientists and the huge willingness to help each other navigate life inside and outside of the lab.
That's why we've created this free conference.
What to expect
In a mix of 15-minute, TED-style talks, Q&As and interactive panel discussions, the inaugural LabLife Conference will cover the following topics:
- Getting The Most from Your Mentors - Talk by Prof. Stuart Maudsley
- STEM Career Paths for Life Scientists - Talk by Dr Joanne Kamens
- Mental Health: Identifying & Overcoming Burnout - Talk by Dr Olya Vvedenskaya
- Failure, Resiliency and Overcoming Imposter Syndrome - Talk by Dr Matthew Caley
- Writing Successful Funding Applications - Panel, chair Jazmine Benjamin
- Writing, Publishing & Peer Reviewing Scientific Papers – Panel chaired by Dr James Quinn, with panellists Dr. Bronwen Martin & Dr Matthew Lloyd
Please note that this is a fully virtual event and the entire conference will take place on hopin.com.
We’ll be updating the event with more details once our full lineup is confirmed, so keep an eye out for our social media announcements!
Once you’ve booked your ticket, we’d love you to spread the word and share that you’re going using the hashtag #LabLifeCon.
We look forward to seeing you there!
