Overview

This protease inhibitor cocktail contains a mixture of protease inhibitors with broad specificity for various proteases. It is optimized for use in cell lysates and tissue extracts including samples containing detergents.

Protease inhibitor cocktails protect proteins from degradation by endogenous proteases released during protein extraction and purification.

Components and action

The following components are included in this cocktail which target phosphatases including protein tyrosine phosphatases, acid and alkaline phosphatases.

  • Imidazole: Alkaline phosphatase inhibitor (200mM)
  • Sodium fluoride: acid phosphatase and serine/threonine phosphatase inhibitor (100mM)
  • Sodium Molybdate: acid phosphate inhibit (115mM)
  • Sodium orthovanadate: protein tyrosine phosphatase/ alkaline phosphatase inhibitor (100mM)
  • Sodium tartrate dihydrate: acid phosphatase inhibitor (400mM)

Formulation & usage recommendation

The cocktail is supplied as lyophilised powder.

Solubility overview

Reconstitute each vial with 1 ml H₂O. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -20°C. Dilute 1:100 just prior to use.
