Biological Data

Biological description

Endogenous mitochondrial-derived peptide which is implicated in various biological processes such as aging and neurodegeneration. Enhances mitochondrial function and cell survival. Induces β-Arrestin recruitment to CXCR7 (EC50 = 0.97M) and directly binds to the receptor to cause its internalization. Suppresses food intake, prevents diet-induced obesity in mice and improves glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in vivo.
