"Ms Teh is the Chief Scientific Officer of the Postgraduate Laboratory of the M.Kandiah Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). The Postgraduate Laboratory occupies 10,000 sq ft of space and houses 3 general research laboratories, 4 cell culture laboratories, and other specific laboratories that support molecular and cell biology work. Ms Teh has managed with her supporting staff these laboratories for over 12 years and facilitated about 60 postgraduate students at any one time pursuing their master or PhD in medical sciences. In addition, she is pursuing her PhD degree on a part-time basis on the subject of induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSC) derived osteosarcoma cell lines - establishment, characterisation and study of pathogenesis of osteosarcoma. She has assisted the Faculty recently to establish a biobank of IPSC cell lines, maintain them and distribute them to support researchers who need these cell lines for research. She also supports the activities of the Postgraduate Club comprising postgraduate students of the Faculty. She has been a source of strength in facilitating international students from other countries joining the postgraduate research programmes of the Faculty and provided guidance in their pursue of postgraduate studies in Malaysia."
