Biological description Cytochrome C-dependent caspase activator. Increases Apaf-1 oligomerization forming apoptosomes. Activates caspase-3 following caspase-9 activation. Induces PARP cleavage and DNA fragmentation. Shows apoptotic and anti-cancer actions.
