Stock Control Operative

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: 

Hello Bio manufactures and supplies research reagents and products to scientists worldwide. The main purpose of the Stock Control Operative is:

  • To maintain the levels of stock to ensure availability and prompt dispatch of orders to customers.
  • To manage bulk stock levels and advise Stock Control Manager of low running stocks.
  • To maintain levels of consumables necessary to ship orders.To assist with the packing of customer orders, checking orders and ensuring that customers receive the correct products.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • This role is 20 hours per week - flexible hours (within 9am – 5 pm) and flexible days (within Mon-Fri) are available.
  • Full training will be provided.
  • Salary: Dependent upon experience
  • Location: UK Headquarters, Avonmouth, Bristol

MAIN DUTIES:

Stock level management

  • Manage the levels of pre-weighed stock using company IT systems by accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor bulk stock and report low stock levels to enable re-synthesis/re-order in a timely fashion.
  • Weigh new products for distribution to international offices to facilitate timely product launches.
  • Receive and re-label externally sourced products.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate consumable stock to ensure orders can be packed promptly.
  • Assist in sourcing new packaging required for different new product types/packsizes.
  • Maintain a clean working environment to quality of products and packages dispatched to customers.

Order Packing

  • Pick and pack customer orders from pre-weighed stock shelves.
  • Weigh to order any items that aren’t available on stock shelves.
  • Ensure all order paperwork is present and correct.
  • Add marketing materials to order packages to assist with marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in checking of orders packed by other team members to ensure accuracy of packages dispatched.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications/Experience

  • No pre-requisite qualifications are necessary, though previous stock control experience would be helpful.
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken English.
  • Competent IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel. Training in company specific software and databases will be provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, decision making, problem solving, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Passport and full driver’s license
