Life Science Marketing Specialist Vacancy

An exciting opportunity for a science graduate or post-graduate to utilise skills in a non-laboratory role.

In this role you will coordinate and implement digital marketing activities, including email marketing, PPC, and re-marketing to a life science audience. You will help to develop the company website, and will represent the company at selected tradeshows, providing technical support to other team members and assisting the customer care team where required.

The position will be ideal for a BSc to PhD level life scientist with an interest in marketing. A background in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar life science would be desirable due to our product range. You will need a keen interest in expanding on your current scientific and marketing knowledge, as well as having strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills, and a flexible, can-do approach to your role. Competencies in using Microsoft Office Word, and Excel are essential, and html knowledge would be an advantage.

Hello Bio is a fast-growing, well-respected manufacturer and supplier of high quality research reagents and biochemicals (GPCR agonists, enzyme inhibitors, ion channel modulators and fluorescent probes) for pre-clinical research to universities and pharmaceutical company customers worldwide.

Role Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To coordinate and implement digital marketing activities, including email marketing, PPC, and re-marketing to a life science audience. To represent Hello Bio at tradeshows, providing technical support to other team members where required. To manage the Contacts Database and be responsible for data accuracy. To assist in developing the company website, and to provide marketing and technical support to the Head of Marketing where required. To provide additional assistance to the Customer Care team where required (See Special Conditions*)

MAIN DUTIES:

E-marketing

1. To coordinate and prioritise multiple email campaigns.
2. To assist in the creation of targeted emails and content to increase engagement and minimize unsubscribes, as well as adhering to GDPR regulations
3. To send regular emails using automated email software. Implement A/B testing where required.
4. To monitor and report on email metrics (open rates, CTR), recommending improvements where required.

Digital Marketing

5. To assist in the generation of, and manage, the day-to-day PPC and online advertising campaigns.
6. To monitor and report on the effectiveness of the digital PPC campaigns.
7. To manage scientific listings in on-line directories

Website & SEO

8. To assist in generating and uploading accurate technical articles and content for the website and Hello Bio Blog.
9. To assist in reviewing website performance and implementing improvements where required.

Contact Management

10. To assist in identifying potential customers
11. To be responsible for profiling, cleaning and tidying customer data, to ensure accuracy for emailings.
12. To upload contact data.
13. To ensure accuracy and completeness of captured data, and to comply with GDPR regulations as required.

Trade Shows

14. To attend trade shows, promoting the Hello Bio brand and range as required
15. To organize equipment, travel, accommodation and conference exhibition space for the trade shows that Hello Bio attends. This will involve liaising with couriers, obtaining quotes, packing conference materials and shipping to deadlines.

Marketing Support

16. To manage the sourcing of promotional materials, obtaining quotes, and placing orders as required.
17. To assist in the analysis of conference effectiveness
18. To support the Head of Marketing in the execution of marketing campaigns.

Customer Care (2 days a week)

19. To manage and process customer orders, enquiries and quotes.
20. To assist with the reporting and evaluation of customer service KPIs.
21. To assist with key account management.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications/Experience

  • A graduate or post-graduate degree in a life science (pharmacology, physiology, biochemistry, biomedical or related) is essential.
  • A marketing qualification is desirable though not essential
  • Experience in PPC and digital remarketing is desirable though not essential as all training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English.
  • Competent IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Training in company specific software and databases will be provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, decision making, problem solving, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Understanding of basic HTML would be advantageous but not essential
  • Passport and full driver’s licence

*Special Conditions

  • Due to current company resources and requirements, a maximum of 2 days per week will be allocated to Customer Care duties. It is expected that this will decrease over time.
  • A passport is required. As attendance at conferences is required, the role will require national and international travel of approximately 1 trip per month.
  • It is expected that the postholder will continually maintain and update the necessary skills to carry out the role
