"Vicky is a Biotechnologist who works as a technician at the lab where I do my postdoc. I’ve known her since our masters degree and she’s always been a great labmate. Even when it’s not her real job, Vicky is virtually responsible for the functioning of the whole lab. She takes care of tasks that nobody else would (such as re-filling pippete tips, washing volumetric material, preparing new solutions), even when this is supposed to be a shared job. She is one of the most scientifically prepared people in our lab: she handles all the methodologies we use, plus she's the only one who knows how to operate the more complex pieces of equipment, being the expert on DNA sequencing. During seminars, she always provides us with great feedback and assumes the role of moderator so we don’t lose track.
