"Chelsea is an absolute superstar lab technician in the Evans Lab! She joined the lab only a few months after we started and she is why we are able to do all of the things we do. From managing our colony to ordering lab supplies, Chelsea excels in her role beyond the scope of her assigned duties to ensure our lab is running smoothly. Chelsea has grown in her role, establishing new procedures and protocols and taking on her own successful independent research projects. Even more important than her physical contributions to the lab, Chelsea’s bright and shining personality makes the lab a place people are happy to come to every day. She always greets you with a smile, is friendly, outgoing, and genuine. Chelsea conducts herself with professionalism and courtesy while interacting with all members of the Georgetown community, as well as outside vendors and equipment technicians. Chelsea is so caring of others, constantly making small acts of kindness to make sure birthdays are always recognized and any successes are celebrated. Chelsea has accomplished so much in her time in the Evans Lab, winning awards to present her research and even (almost!) completing her Master’s degree without ever letting her work or research fall behind. Next year, Chelsea will be leaving us to pursue her medical education, and though we could not be more proud, she will be so truly missed. Chelsea is the glue that holds our lab and we are so grateful for all she has contributed to the lab over the last 3 years. There is no one more deserving to be recognized for the Lab Heroes Award than Chelsea."
