"I am so happy to nominate Shaydel Engel. Shaydel is a researcher and lab manager extraordinaire! She is invaluable to our lab – she is a leader, organizer and problem solver. Shaydel has a MS degree in Biomedical Sciences specializing in behavioral neuropharmacology. Shaydel has demonstrated that she can do it all, from independent research projects to training new students to effectively presenting her work at conferences. She is always supportive and has an incredible positive attitude, which has been so important during the tough pandemic years. She has great ideas, a keen grasp on logistics and is highly productive and dedicated to her work. Her love of science shines through each time we come up with a new experiment or see the results of a long experiment. I am truly grateful that she is in our group. If there was anyone deserving of a Lab Heroes Award it is her because she is our biggest lab hero!"
