Hello Bio Wins Prestigious Business Impact and Transformation Award at Innovate UK KTP Awards 2024
Birmingham, UK
Hello Bio, a leading provider of innovative life science tools, proudly announces its recognition as the winner of the Business Impact and Transformation Award at the Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Awards. The prestigious accolade was presented last night in Birmingham at a ceremony hosted by renowned historian and broadcaster Professor Suzannah Lipscomb, alongside industry leaders and innovators.
This award recognizes the success of Hello Bio's Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with the University of Bristol, which was rated outstanding by Innovate UK. The partnership was instrumental in the development of ValidAbs™, an innovative range of validated antibodies designed to tackle reproducibility issues in biomedical research.
By combining Hello Bio's expertise in life sciences and the University of Bristol's research excellence, the KTP project aimed to address the critical challenge of unreliable antibodies in research. Antibodies play a pivotal role in research experiments, but poor-quality antibodies can lead to inconsistent results and wasted resources. The launch of ValidAbs™ provides researchers with robustly validated antibodies, ensuring the reliability and reproducibility of experimental data whilst reducing scientists' costs and enhancing efficiency.
Dr. Steve Roome, Managing Director of Hello Bio, commented on the win:
"We are thrilled to be recognized with the Business Impact and Transformation Award at this year’s Innovate UK KTP Awards. This achievement is a testament to the collaborative effort between Hello Bio and the University of Bristol, and it highlights the value of combining academic research with commercial innovation to address real-world challenges that scientists face daily. ValidAbs™ are already making a difference in the global life science research community, and we are excited about their potential to transform the reproducibility of biomedical research."
Hello Bio’s partnership with the University of Bristol exemplifies the power of KTPs to bridge academia and industry, delivering significant business growth and scientific advancements. In addition to developing ValidAbs™, the collaboration has strengthened Hello Bio’s product portfolio, enhancing its global reputation as a trusted partner in life sciences research.
The award winning KTP project was funded by UKRI through Innovate UK.
