Zsofia Laszlo is nominated in the Lab Heroes Awards - TM
Zsofia Laszlo, Henstridge Lab, University of Dundee, United Kingdom
Positive, perceptive, powerful
"Scientific Success: Zsofia is a Hungarian superstar who joined my lab at the very beginning of my independent career. She moved to Scotland during the COVID pandemic and spent her first weeks away from home, in quarantine. She quickly adapted to life in Dundee and together we started to build a lab of cool techniques and new trainees. Within a year, she had won a personal Fellowship and was directing her own research. Over the last few years she has published several papers, won more grants, and mentored many students through the lab.
Nurturing Nature: Zsofia is extremely smart but also very giving with her time and expertise, to the benefit of everyone within the lab. But she doesn’t stop there. Zsofia has helped teams across the Division of Neuroscience with techniques and analysis, highlighting her helpful and nurturing nature. Zsofia also takes part in our public facing events, discussing the wonder of science with people of all ages and backgrounds, inspiring all with her knowledge and enthusiasm.
Powerful Positivity: Zsofia takes everything in her stride. She has performed (and continues to perform) all the amazing things described above, whilst navigating maternity leave, twice! Her “can do” attitude is infectious, and she has (or will find) a solution to almost every theoretical or technical question thrown at her (and I throw a lot!)."
