Mentor, leader, innovative
"I would like to nominate Dr. Nasrollah Moradikar, Group Leader of the Brain Aging and Dementia Research, for the Lab Hero Awards 2025. As a research assistant in his lab, I see every day how he leads not as “the boss,” but as a true mentor. No matter how busy he is, he always finds time to sit with us, listen to our ideas and worries, and guide us step by step. He explains things clearly, never makes us feel small for asking questions, and always encourages us to think for ourselves. What inspires me most is his out-of-the-box thinking. He constantly pushes us to question routine methods and look for new, smarter ways to answer our research questions. Many of our most exciting project ideas have started from his creative suggestions. At the same time, he is very strong in helping the whole group stay focused on what really matters. In a field where we can easily get lost in side experiments, he keeps us on track, reminding us of our main goals and helping us avoid wasting time on less important tasks.
